MORE PICTURES

The last couple of weeks have gone quickly, and I have not written on here. Ray is spending several weeks with his aging mother who just had surgery. Happily, she is doing well, and she has recuperated very well. I decided that I would fly to Florida to visit two of our daughters over Mother's Day weekend, and we talked to the people who come to church on Sunday mornings and asked them if they would like us to find a replacement for us for that Sunday. They said that they would just go to another church in town for that Sunday. They are so thoughtful of us. I enjoyed the trip to see the children, and I will post some pictures from that trip.
People faithfully showed up for church yesterday, and we had a good service together, although it was short. We are all looking forward to Ray's return. I took another picture-taking cruise, and I will share some of them with you here.
Thank you for your interest in Lower Brule. Please pray for us.

A PICTURE TOUR OF LOWER BRULE

Last Monday I took the English class out to the overlook to write a description paper. The overlook has a beautiful overview of Lower Brule and all the surrounding areas, complete with buffalo and elk and the Missouri River that winds its way past the town. The lady who chauffeurs the college van brought us, and we had a nice time up on the hill. One of the students began to ask some questions about the area of the chauffeur who was born and raised in Lower Brule. She offered to take us for a ride and show us some of the important sites in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and the wealth of information that she gave to us as she drove. I felt that I had received a course in history of the area, and I had experienced a rare cultural experience when we returned to the college. We had a most enjoyable class, and I am looking forward to reading the papers that will be written from that experience. I took a drive today after church and took some pictures for my archives and to share with you. Today was very windy, and the light was a little dim; so the pictures might not be as clear as I would have liked them to be.
