A PICTURE TOUR OF LOWER BRULE

Last Monday I took the English class out to the overlook to write a description paper. The overlook has a beautiful overview of Lower Brule and all the surrounding areas, complete with buffalo and elk and the Missouri River that winds its way past the town. The lady who chauffeurs the college van brought us, and we had a nice time up on the hill. One of the students began to ask some questions about the area of the chauffeur who was born and raised in Lower Brule. She offered to take us for a ride and show us some of the important sites in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and the wealth of information that she gave to us as she drove. I felt that I had received a course in history of the area, and I had experienced a rare cultural experience when we returned to the college. We had a most enjoyable class, and I am looking forward to reading the papers that will be written from that experience. I took a drive today after church and took some pictures for my archives and to share with you. Today was very windy, and the light was a little dim; so the pictures might not be as clear as I would have liked them to be.
